The Heart Center Marburg is a cooperation of the divisions Internal Medicine-Cardiology and the Clinic for Cardiothoracic Surgery The Division of Cardiology, Clinic for Internal Medicine was established in 1984. The first chairman was Prof. Dr. Bodo Strauer. Prof. Dr. Bernhard Maisch was appointed to the Chair of Cardiology in 1989. Prof. Dr. Rainer Moosdorf was appointed to the Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery in 1994. The therapeutic approaches of the Heart Center Marburg are closely co-ordinated to ensure optimal care of our patients (Internet-Logo). Broad research co-operations exist for developing new diagnostic procedures in the field of cardiomyopathies and for novel therapies to prevent heart failure. |

Organisation:The divisions are closely co-operating and provide broad therapeutic approaches ranging from acute interventions to rehabilitation. Teaching: In an integrative approach, the broad spectrum of cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery is taught. Continuing education involves the Heart-Circulation-Forum and seminars for physicians and patients. Research:The Heart Center Marburg has a leading role in novel research approaches for the identification and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Address:
